Prominent Anambra Citizens Back Obiano’s Second Term Bid


Prominent citizens of Anambra State have continued to indicate their readiness to vote for Governor Willie Obiano for a second term in office. Most of those who are backing the Governor said they will support him for eliminating violent crimes such as armed robbery, kidnapping and assassination in the state.


Among the latest declarants are the monarch of Enugwu Aguleri, EzeChukwuemeka Eri, former chairman of Anambra East Local Government Area, Hon. Osita Chinwuba and Chief Ifeanyi Abala – Patron of Omabala Indigenous Youth Foundation, OIYF.

According to Eze Eri, “he has been able to drag criminals out of the state with the help of the military and other security operatives”. “We can now sleep with both eyes closed and investors are coming into the state to invest and not only that, the State is not owing salaries of workers unlike what is obtainable in other states. Security is paramount in every economy and without it you cannot progress.”

“The Governor has also focused on agriculture and many other life saving ventures which made us not to feel the impact of the economic recession” he stated.

Contributing, the former Council chairman who was flanked by the cabinet Public Relations Officer, PRO, Hon. Jerome Nnechi, expressed satisfaction with the Governor’s interest in security adding that it has earned him another tenure in office stating, “you can’t change a winning team”.

Earlier, the patron of OIYF while commending the Governor on his exploits in the area of security added that “he should intervene in the Aguleri and Kogi land dispute by finding a lasting solution to it.

According to him, “we are brothers and we don’t like two brothers fighting over land issue. Kogi is from Aguleri, so we are not only blood relations but we also intermarry”.
