Anambra to construct additional pedestrian bridge in Awka.

The Anambra State Government will soon construct a pedestrian bridge at the Regina Caeli junction, Awka.

Governor Willie Obiano who announced this in Awka the state capital said the aim is to address the difficulty pedestrians face in crossing over the four lanes of the Enugu-Onitsha expressway.

Governor Obiano stated that his government was committed to providing more social amenities in the state capital adding that the pedestrian bridge project when completed would also help to check rising cases of avoidable accidents at the junction.

The Governor used the occasion to call on wealthy citizens of the state to take advantage of the enabling environment provided by his administration to invest in the state. Such investments he noted could be made through the State Investments Promotions and Protection Agency, ANSIPPA which is saddled with the responsibility of facilitating and fast-tracking business arrangements for interested investors.

Governor Obiano disclosed that his administration in the past two years has attracted investments worth over four billion dollars of which sixty percent of them are from the state.

The Governor also pointed out that more than eighty new hotels had so far sprung up in the state capital since his administration took over.
